Robin Trower on stage

Robin Trower – Seventies Guitar Hero

Just finished updating my biography of Robin Trower, one of the often forgotten guitar heroes of the sixties and seventies. His run of four consecutive American gold selling albums in the mid seventies yielded some of the most explosive guitar rock of his time. With a tone similar to Jimi Hendrix, he was sometimes dismissed as a Hendrix clone, but the two guitarists played differently in terms of technique. Trower was all about mood and tone, with an exceptional blues and r&b foundation. He could rip with the best of them, but preferred to let his guitar solos simmer, with them ultimately reaching a wah wah enhanced big finish. His work on Procol Harum’s first five albums was also a thing of beauty. Read all about his remarkable career on his artist biography.
