John P. Hammond has been playing traditional American acoustic blues since the early sixties. The son of legendary producer and talent scout, John H. Hammond (Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Ray Vaughan etc. ) and a descendant of Cornelius Vanderbilt, Hammond may be the best acoustic blues guitarist of his generation. His uncanny recreations of songs by Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and many other iconic blues figures have earned him a Grammy and a career that has lasted from the early sixties to now.
