Just finished a new write up on one of the giants of the British post punk bands, Adam and the Ants, along with up to date information on their members, including the incomparable Adam Ant. There was nothing like Adam and the Ants in the late seventies and early eighties. Coming out of the same scene that produced the Sex Pistols, the band evolved into a pop machine, dominating the British singles and albums chart during one magical year where they could do nothing wrong. No one realized what their songs were really about as they were captivated with their distinctive look, which propelled Adam Ant to teen celebrity status. They broke up at the height of their fame just as they were breaking through in America, but Ant continued on as a solo artists, achieving more fame before crashing spectacularly back to earth.
This is a fascinating read into their career with attention paid to who, and what, they were really about. Give it a look.
