Just finished updating the biography of those purveyors of Florida disco, KC and the Sunshine Band. Find out how a warehouse employee and a 17 year old recording assistant practically invented disco, before that term was even out there with five number one singles in the span of two years. Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch sold millions of records over a relatively brief four year period before fading out of view, undeserved victims of the disco backlash in 1980. However, Casey resurrected the band in 1991, released a couple of new albums and put together a touring version who continue to this very day to bring back the days of “Get Down Tonight”, “That’s The Way (I Like It)”, “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty”, and “I’m Your Boogie Man”. While we are now probably embarrassed to admit it, we all danced to the four number one hits at the time.
